Järvi-Aegviidu hiking trail (27 km)

From August 7th to November 30th, renovation work will be carried out on the Kõnnu Suursoo boardwalk. During the works, the boardwalk will be closed. Please use other opportunities for moving around in nature.

This is a well known hiking trail among Estonians. With it's 27 km (previous 32 km) length and several campsites the trail offers hiking possibilities for up to 2-3 days. The beautiful and varied landscape is worth visiting.

  • The trail is marked with red paint dots or red ribbons on trees, with signs where the trail branches. The trail goes through the area of Northern-Kõrvemaa protected landscape. Please observe legal restrictions. In places, the trail goes by village and forest paths through farm lands – hikers are asked not to disturb the local people.
  • The hiking trail is not kept clear of snow.
  • Before going on a nature walk please read the Environmental code of conduct (freedom to roam), rules of conduct and waste-sorting policy

Driving directionsOn the 56.km of Tallinn-Narva road (road no.1) turn right in direction "Kemba", drive 0,9 km and turn right in direction "Järvi järved". Drive 4 km along the gravelled road to reach the camping area`s parking lot.
When coming from Aegviidu, the trail starts from Aegviidu Visitor Centre.
