Endla rental hut is located in the middle of Endla Nature Reserve on the shore of Lake Endla.  Endla rental hut is perfect for people who value peace and quiet and who are willing to carry their sleeping equipment through the mires and bogs. Near Endla rental hut there is a large boulder called Juta Kivi (Juta’s Rock). According to the legend, both the lake and its inhabitants, the birds and fish, were under the protection of Juta, the beautiful daughter of Vanemuine. Sitting on this boulder, Juta longed for her beloved one.

AmenitiesThe hut sleeps 9 people.
The hut is Spartan – it has a kitchen with wood-heated stove, table and benches, fireplace and sauna (firewood available). Sleeping area on the floor upstairs, visitors must bring their own sleeping equipment.
No drinking water, no electricity.
There is dry toilet, public campfire site (any visitor to the nature reserve can stay at the campfire site, RMK cannot guarantee privacy for the customer in the rental hut!), picnic table and woodshed.
Please bring a change of footwear to wear inside the hut.

SightsKaasikjärv bog, Lake Endla, birch swamp forest, Endla wooded meadow (Salu), and different forest communities. The beauty of the Kaasikjärv bog and Lake Endla and its biota can be enjoyed from the bird-watching tower on Lake Endla hiking trail. Visitors can also take a longer walking trip to Männikjärv bog.
Additional information
  • Advance booking is required. The rental hut is let out on alternate days, i.e. at least two days must remain between the bookings of different customers. This is because of the secluded location of the rental hut, which makes its maintenance complicated and time-consuming.
  • Before leaving the rental hut, please put the rooms in order. Take all waste with you. Visitors need to walk at least 3 km to get to the rental hut. Staying in a nature reserve requires the visitors to have nature conservation-oriented way of mind.
  • The object is equipped with firewood.
  • Before going on a nature walk please read the Environmental code of conduct (freedom to roam), rules of conduct and waste-sorting policy
RestrictionsPersons under the age of 18 can book and use the hut only together with an adult.

When walking a dog, keep it on the lead! To organise a public event with more than 20 participants, organise boat trips or go on Lake Endla and Lake Sinijärv, a permit must be obtained from protected area manager. Driving directionsDrive 60 km along the Tartu–Piibe road and turn left on Kärde hill, (follow the sign "Kärde") and drive around Kärde Rahumaja (“Peace House”). Then turn left, drive about 1 km until the road branches. Keep to the right and continue about 2 km to a wood stand, turn right and drive about 50 m to the information board. Park the car by the road in front of the information board (NB: the road may not be easily passable). Walk along Lake Endla hiking trail to Lake Endla. Turn right and proceed along the lakeshore to the rental hut (about 3 km from the information board). Alternatively, you can access the hut from Tooma, first along Männikjärv bog study trail, then along the Mustjõgi riverbank along Lake Endla hiking trail to Lake Endla (about 5 km in total).
