Mändjala Nature House

Mändjala Nature House is located by the Suur Katel Bay in RMK Saaremaa Recreation Area. The island of Saaremaa was raised from the sea at the end of the Ice Age, and in the course of further rising of the ground a few millimetres per year, the island grew larger and the settlement expanded. By the end of the first millennium A.D. Saaremaa was one of the most developed counties of prehistoric Estonia. The Nature House is located in the Järve Dunes Landscape Protection Area, surrounded by primeval forest. In the rooms of the nature house the protected plants of the protected area, the primeval forest, forest pests and damages and different tree species are introduced. The Nature House welcomes all who are interested in nature and who value quiet and privacy and respect the vulnerable nature.
