Pärnumaa Recreation Area

RMK Pärnumaa Recreation Area is situated in the south-western part of Estonia, covering Saarde, Tahkuranna, Häädemeeste, Audru, Koonga and Varbla municipalities. The area suits equally well for beach and forest holidays. Since Pärnumaa Recreation Area stretches along the coast, the sea plays an enormous role in shaping its character. A beach holiday offers you a chance to enjoy the lightshow of the sun setting in the sea or listen to the sound of pine trees growing on the coast, look for the bright blue feather of the common kingfisher or trace the run of a common vole, build sand castles and simply celebrate the joy of being. If you cannot or would not be on the beach, you will find plenty to do in forests rich in mushrooms and wild berries, scenic groves and mires, and the rich historical and cultural heritage. Coastal meadows with their varied vegetation and birds captivate people interested in nature.
